A Prayer for the Path Ahead

✦ The Prayer ✦

Lord of every path, I do not know which way to go. The road ahead is dark, and I have lost the compass I trusted. Take my hand. Order my steps. Open the doors that are meant for me, and close, in mercy, the ones that are not. Give me courage to walk forward even when I cannot see far ahead — knowing that You go before me, and that Your favor rests upon the work of my hands. Amen.

Why this prayer, today.

There is a season in every life when the path forward disappears. The plan we had unravels. The direction we thought we were going becomes uncertain.

Scripture does not promise us a map. It promises us a Shepherd, and enough light for the next step.

Whatever crossroads you are standing at today, you do not have to solve the whole path tonight. Just the next step.
